Job Summary
Market Development Manager responsible for managing wholesalers in an assigned geographic area, directing training and development initiatives, overseeing point-of-sale materials budgeting, and coordinating with the area GM to execute national sales priorities. Key duties include planning for volume, distribution, and investments; conducting quarterly and monthly reviews with wholesalers; identifying market opportunities; developing Trimester plans with programming and funding for Wholesalers; evaluating pricing changes; developing and executing new product rollouts; managing supply chain/inventory with wholesalers; ensuring achievement of volume and distribution goals; and maintaining strong customer relationships. Requires proficiency with Cognos/Retail Vision, advanced Excel/PowerPoint, and travel up to 30%+; must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel by plane/train as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in the CPG business
- Minimum of 3 years of consumer product sales and sales management experience
- Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel at advanced level, and PowerPoint, and e-mail programs such as IBM Lotus Notes
- Ability to travel a minimum of 30% of his/her working time (15% for Emerging Distributor MDM), including ability to drive up to 5 hrs
- Ability to utilize Business Information reporting tools such as Cognos 7/8 and sales reporting tools such as Retail Vision
