Job Summary
Delivers Smith System 5 Keys training through classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction, conducting initial and refresher sessions while evaluating driver readiness for release. Coaches Designated Driver Trainers, supports new drivers through the 4–6 week onboarding program, and provides targeted retraining and route observations for repeat drivers following incidents. Leads structured training sessions involving observation, demonstration, and feedback drives, maintaining accurate records and reporting trends to Safety Managers using Power BI metrics. Adapts instructional approaches to diverse learning styles and ensures compliance with all organization, state, and federal policies.
Required Qualifications
- Smith System 5 Keys Driver Trainer Certification
- Refresher certification
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-B)
- Working knowledge of Front Load
- Working knowledge of Roll Off
- Working knowledge of Side Load
- Working knowledge of Rear Load
- Working knowledge of Container Delivery
- Strong background in commercial driving
- Safety training
