Job Summary
Maintain and service the RYA fleet of support boats, trailers, and vehicles to world-class standards, performing mechanical repairs, fibreglass hull and tube work, and routine safety inspections. Coordinate repair requirements, manage maintenance stock levels, and ensure equipment remains fully operational for deployment at UK and overseas events. Monitor equipment defects, maintain accurate records, and assist with decommissioning while supporting workshop facilities and Boat Store upkeep. Work independently with high attention to detail, collaborating across Racing and Performance departments to guarantee athlete and coach readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Experience maintaining and servicing boats, marine equipment and/or vehicles
- Strong knowledge of RIB, outboard motor and trailer maintenance
- Knowledge of vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and maintaining accurate records
- Good practical skills, including metalwork and welding
- Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems
- Good communication and teamworking skills
- IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Powerboat Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience of towing trailers and driving vans
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Yamaha Level 1 or Level 2 Technician qualification
- Experience of GRP repairs and fibreglass work
- Experience working in sailing, racing or performance sport environments
