Job Summary

Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, steering, and hydraulic issues on outboard and inboard propulsion systems using OEM diagnostic software and manufacturer procedures. Perform scheduled maintenance, seasonal service, complete rigging, repowers, and accessory installations such as steering systems and trolling motors. Document all diagnostic findings and repairs within the dealership management system while maintaining a clean, safety-focused work environment. Collaborate with Service Advisors and Parts personnel to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction. Support fellow technicians on difficult diagnostic situations and contribute to a positive team-oriented service department. This full-time role involves Monday through Saturday hours with Sundays always off, offering competitive earning potential with $100K+ for top performers and opportunities for manufacturer certification.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of professional marine technician experience, preferably in a dealership environment
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting experience with both outboard and inboard marine propulsion systems
  • Ability to independently diagnose complex mechanical and electrical concerns
  • Experience servicing Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, or similar marine engine platforms
  • Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, steering, hydraulic systems, and onboard accessories
  • Experience performing rigging, repowers, engine installations, and accessory installations
  • Comfortable using OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, and manufacturer service information
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Monday through Saturday
  • One weekday off
  • Overtime opportunities available during peak boating season

Desired Qualifications

  • Current OEM certifications preferred but not required
  • Multi-brand marine dealership experience
  • MMI graduate or equivalent marine technical education
  • Experience with sterndrives, inboards, and high-performance marine systems
  • Experience using Lightspeed or similar dealership management software
