Job Summary
Marine painter responsible for applying a variety of marine coating systems aboard ships, interpreting paint schedules, preparing surfaces, masking unpainted areas, sandblasted surfaces, selecting methods of coating application, and ensuring suitable curing conditions. May work with power coating, non-skid, and other hull treatments. Must interpret paint schedules, calculate surface areas, estimate material requirements, test paint grade/viscosity, and perform final quality inspections. Role involves working in physically demanding environments including confined spaces and heights, using power/hand tools and chemicals to clean surfaces prior to coating. Must have 2+ years of painting experience, be able to work across multiple shifts, and meet respirator fit and physical agility requirements. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years paint experience
- Ability to work at extreme heights or in confined spaces
- Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs and pass a respirator fit test
- Must be able to work any of our 3 shifts
- Must be able to work indoors/outdoors year round
- Must pass a Physical Agility Test
