Job Summary
Marine Operations Specialist to support development of marine operations policies for client terminal projects; conduct research on port/terminal operations, vessel types, cargo handling, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices; provide shipbroking administrative and operational support; monitor freight markets and vessel availability; develop client-facing reports and proposals; contribute to internal knowledge base; remote-first collaboration with CEO and senior team. Requires strong written English, analytical capability, ability to translate maritime expertise into clear, professional materials, and comfort working in a small, distributed team.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in a maritime operations, port or terminal operations, ship management, chartering, or commercial shipping environment
- Demonstrable familiarity with operational realities of the maritime industry
- Experience producing written materials — reports, procedures, briefings, or correspondence — to a professional standard
- Exposure to or involvement in shipbroking, chartering, or freight market activity is a meaningful advantage
- Background in or exposure to client-facing work, consulting support, or structured analytical tasks is strongly preferred
- Solid working knowledge of maritime operations (port/terminal operations, vessel operations, bulk shipping, tanker operations, or commercial chartering)
- Strong written English communication
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to conduct and synthesize research independently
- Genuine analytical capability
- Familiarity with maritime regulations, industry bodies, and standard commercial documentation
