Job Summary
Marine Mechanic I on-site role performing skilled maintenance and repairs of diesel/gas engines, generators, marine propulsion systems and related electronics on vessels 19–200+ feet. Responsibilities include diagnosing engine problems, performing overhauls, installing and testing systems, and leading/coaching junior Marine Mechanics I–III. Duties cover installation, repair, and troubleshooting of engines, hydraulic equipment, piping, wiring harnesses, control cables, and mechanical components; ability to travel to Southeast AK ports for projects; requires reading technical manuals and schematics, safety trainings, and adherence to company and US Coast Guard policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- Experience with analog and electronic systems
- 6+ years of experience in marine, heavy diesel or related mechanical field
- Experience installing and repairing electronic systems
- Safe operation of hand and power tools
- Leadership experience
- Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test
