Marine Mechanic/Electrical Technician

Job Summary

Collaborate with a team performing mechanical and electrical repairs on rigid hull inflatable boats for USCG and other government agencies. Assess equipment condition, identify failures, and execute repairs on propulsion machinery, sponson collars, and trailer components. Conduct operational testing, quality inspections, and maintenance procedures including oil changes, greasing, and safety gear cleaning. Manage progress against contractual guidelines, process maintenance cards, and inform management of status. Transport boats across the continental US to client locations and launch/recover vessels for testing. Maintain a clean driving record and operate a forklift safely while working in confined spaces aboard marine craft.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • minimum of seven (5) years of experience as a marine mechanic
  • current USCG approved boating course certification
  • passport
  • experience using various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • clean driving record
  • own tools and tool box
  • CONUS and OCONUS Travel
  • Travel will occur up to 10% of the time
  • Must pass a standard background check
  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial or shipboard environment
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature
  • Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience with RHIB for federal or USCG boats
