Marine Machinist (propulsion / repairs / engineering) - Caribbean

Job Summary
Perform precision machining of propulsion components including propeller shafts, bushings, sleeves, bearings, and couplings using lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and drilling equipment. Support shaftline repairs, stern tube works, and propulsion system installations by repairing and refurbishing worn parts during vessel repairs and drydock periods. Interpret engineering drawings and tolerances while conducting measurement checks to ensure components meet specifications. Work closely with propulsion specialists, mechanics, and engineering teams while maintaining safe working practices and proper workshop procedures. Requires trade qualification or diploma in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or Marine Engineering with 5+ years of experience in marine machining or shipyard operations. Required Qualifications
- Trade qualification or diploma in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or Marine Engineering
- 5+ years experience in marine machining, shipyard operations, or heavy mechanical environments
- Strong experience working on marine propulsion components
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining tolerances
- Experience with precision machining tools and measuring instruments
