Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, and repair ship machinery including auxiliary motors, pumps, valves, launchers, ventilation equipment, steering gear, evaporators, heaters, pumps, and condensers. Read and understand blueprint layouts for assembly and installation requirements. Maintain proficiency with all classes of ships, including CVN, CG, DDG, and SSN. Candidates require a minimum of six years as a mechanic, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain DBIDS. US citizenship, a clean background, and drug screen clearance are mandatory. Honolulu residents are preferred. Compensation ranges from $27.00 to $44.80.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years' experience as a Mechanic
- Experience working in a shipyard/ship repair environment
- US Citizen
- Clean Background
- ability to pass a Drug Screen
- Experience working on all classes of ships (CVN, CG, DDG, SSN)
- Ability to obtain DBIDS
- High school diploma or GED equivalence
