Job Summary
The Marine Logistics/Dispatcher will plan, direct and coordinate marine logistics for barge loadings, towing and marine operations along the inland waterway system to meet internal and external customer requirements. Acts as the primary customer point of contact, maintains logs, tracks vessel locations in real-time, coordinates voyage scheduling and barge planning, generates operational reports, and verifies invoices for accounts payable. Requires 2+ years of marine operations dispatch experience, proficiency with TowWorks software (preferred), strong Excel and MS Office skills, excellent communication, and a self-starting, organized, results-oriented approach. Primary work location is Paducah, KY; Safety sensitive position.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years marine operations dispatch experience
- Hands-on TowWorks software experience strongly preferred
- Handle work orders, vessel dispatching, and crew scheduling
- Monitor and track vessel locations in real-time
- Coordinate barge planning and voyage scheduling
- Serve as customer point of contact
- Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities
- Generate weekly and monthly operational reports
- Verify invoices and approve for accounts payable
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and email
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
- Highly organized with analytical mindset
- Self-starter with results-oriented approach
- Primary work location: Paducah, KY
- Valid driver's license required
