Immediate hiring for Marine Grinder Powertoolers in shipyards supporting naval and commercial projects. Candidates must have experience with heavy-duty grinders, a valid TWIC card, and active DBIDS. Responsibilities include metal preparation and operating power tools safely aboard ships and in busy industrial zones.
Required Qualifications
- Strong grinder experience in marine, industrial, or fabrication environments
- Valid TWIC card for immediate access to secure areas
- Active DBIDS for naval base access in Hampton Roads
- Ability to operate and maintain handheld and pneumatic power tools safely
- Physical ability to lift heavy tools (50+ lbs), stand for long shifts, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights
- Experience working aboard ships, in weather-exposed environments, and in high-traffic industrial zones
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow strict protocols
- Reliable transportation and willingness to undergo background and drug screening.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of NAVSEA standards, marine safety protocols, and shipboard operations
- Ability to work as a team player in fast-paced production environments
- Strong communication, situational awareness, and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in shipyards and marine worksites
