Job Summary
Perform marine finishing operations under supervision, including minor painting, layout, and installation of non-skid, floor mats, locker gaskets, and protective coatings. Install seats, doors, windows, upholstered side panels, and headliners while assisting with boat cleaning, shipping preparations, and floatation foam work. Measure, cut, and install various materials such as carpet, insulation, and rubberized products using hand and power tools. Troubleshoot construction problems, maintain manufacturing paperwork for hull numbers, and safely assist with moving vessels using lifting and towing equipment. Follow basic drawings, measurements, and verbal/written direction from leads and supervisors. Maintain a positive attitude and provide general training to team members.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must be able to lift to 40 lbs
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- US citizen or lawful resident of the United States
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and utilize basic math skills
- Ability to follow basic drawings and measurements to assemble & fabricate products
- Ability to properly identify where to locate parts or information
- Ability to understand how to find and interpret basic work forms and utilize a time clock system
- Ability to follow verbal and written direction from Leads, Supervisors and Managers
- Ability to safely assist with moving and setting up marine vessels using lifting and towing equipment
- Previous experience in a marine manufacturing environment
- Professional experience in marine coatings or automotive painting
- Experience in carpets and upholstery
- Ability to sew basic patterns
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools and equipment
- Ability to use many hand tools including wrenches, cordless drills, pneumatic tools, and grinders
- Ability to use band saws
- Ability to perform the shrink wrap process for all marine vessel types
- Ability to perform full detail and wash of marine vessels for presentation, inspection and delivery
- Ability to perform minor painting, layout and installation of non-skid
- Ability to cut and install floor mats, locker gaskets and protective coatings
- Ability to install seats, doors, and windows
- Ability to fabricate and install upholstered side panels and headliner
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve construction problems in coordination with supervisor
- Ability to make entries in and maintain manufacturing paperwork for applicable Hull numbers
- Ability to work with floatation foam
- Ability to perform scheduled tasks and receive training and orientation in overall shop operations
- Ability to properly identify where to locate parts or information
- Ability to follow general safety procedures/policies and operation of hand and power tools
- Ability to report hazards
- Ability to grasp, write, stand, sit, walk, kneel, crawl, perform repetitive motions, bend, stoop, squat and stretch
- Ability to listen and have hearing ability
- Ability to have visual acuity
- Ability to have grasping ability
