Job Summary
Operate travel lifts and forklifts to safely move, block, and place vessels for marina, sales, and service operations. Monitor BoatCloud schedules, coordinate with Dockmasters and team leads to complete timely boat moves, and assist customers during docking, tying, and boarding. Ensure all drain plugs, water pickups, and safety equipment like slings and shackles are secure while maneuvering boats in and out of the marina. Perform daily equipment checks for fluid levels and hydraulic conditions, report maintenance issues, and power-wash vessels after water changes. Place keel blocks, stands, and support frames under vessels as needed, mount propellers, and monitor machinery gauges. Report dock repairs for electrical, water, and structural issues while promoting the MarineMax Safety Program and managing spill containment supplies. Work in physically demanding conditions involving heavy lifting, extreme weather, and awkward positions to ensure a safe workplace.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of machinery and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair and maintenance
- Safe operation of all equipment
- Ability to work well with others
- Customer satisfaction and enthusiasm
- Lifting and Carrying: The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects, often more than 50 pounds
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, sometimes up to several hours a day
- Mobility and Dexterity: Capable of bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling
- Climbing and Balance: Ability to climb vertical ladders and navigate stairs, including entering/exiting boats through hatches
- Sensory Requirements: Good vision and hearing are essential; this includes the ability to see details up close and distinguish between sounds
- Weather Conditions: Exposure to extreme weather conditions including heat and cold
- Gain a complete understanding of spill containment supplies and equipment and be knowledgeable in the use of these items
