Job Summary
Marine Electronics Technician sought to troubleshoot, install, service, and repair marine electronics, communications, navigation, and electrical systems on naval craft. Based at Naval Station Norfolk, the role includes testing equipment, evaluating system performance under operating conditions, reading and applying technical schematics, and performing electrical work on marine platforms. Must have HF/ABYC-certified electrical expertise, six-plus years in military/maritime electronics repair, strong written/verbal communication, and the ability to work in a team. U.S. citizenship with eligibility for DoD security clearance, valid driver's license, and ability to pass background checks. Shift options may include first or second shift with duties performed on site; on-site and field responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- U.S. Navy or Coast Guard electronics training is highly desirable
- ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) Marine Electrical Certification and/or Advanced Marine Electrical Certification - highly desired
- Minimum of six (6) years of direct military and/or maritime electronics, electrical, or C4I systems repair experience
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Must be organized and be able to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal skills are required
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to read, write and interpret technical directives and electronic schematics
- Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation
