Marine Electronics Engineer (Systems Integration) Team Lead

Job Summary

Design, develop, test, and supervise the implementation of electronic equipment for shipboard use, including centralized machinery control, communications, sensors, and C5ISR systems. Conduct analyses on these systems and mitigate cybersecurity risks for installed networks. Develop system documentation and specifications while reviewing and adjudicating design changes, test requirements, and waivers. Evaluate the effect of new electronics on overall system performance and prepare complex technical reports. Requires an existing Secret security clearance and eight years of experience with C5I systems. Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite/2 days remote) at USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC, with up to 10% travel for ship checks.

Required Qualifications

  • Existing SECRET Security Clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or another relevant technical, engineering, or a marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution
  • At least eight (8) years of recent, relevant professional experience developing and integrating Machinery Control (including Electrical Power Management, Auxiliary Machinery Control, and Propulsion Control) and C5I systems (including Command-and-Control Systems, Navigation Systems, Internal Communications and External Communications Systems, Sensors and Radars, Combat Systems, and Intelligence Systems)
  • At least one (1) year of experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs
  • Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations
  • Proficient with common productivity software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hybrid work schedule: Usually 3 days onsite/2 days remote each week at USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC
  • Up to 10% travel to CONUS locations
