Job Summary
Marine Electricians needed for shipboard electrical installations, repairs, and hook-ups in Bremerton, WA. Responsibilities include running cables and leads, terminations, harnessing aboard vessels, preparing work areas, inspecting electrical equipment, testing circuits for continuity and faults, and ensuring safe operation of shipboard electrical systems (600 V and less) in accordance with specifications and drawings. Must be knowledgeable in electrical theory, execute safety procedures, and implement Lock-out Tag-out. Prior experience with testing, inspection of mechanical and electrical connections, and maintaining telephones and related equipment on ships is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with safety procedures for electrical work and shipboard systems
- Knowledge of electrical theory and shipboard troubleshooting (600 V and less)
- Ability to install, repair, and hook-up electrical equipment on ships
- Experience with running cables, terminations, and harnessing aboard vessels
- Ability to prepare work areas, inspect equipment, and test electrical systems
- Lock-out Tag-out procedures knowledge
- Ability to read specifications and drawings for electrical installations
- Working knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance and testing
