Job Summary
Marine Electrician position responsible for installation, repair, and hook-up of electrical services on a ship in a shipyard. Must apply electrical theory, troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment (600 V and less) in accordance with specifications and drawings. Must follow safety procedures and implement Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO). Includes a basic electrical shipbuilding written test and hands-on electrical hookup.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with installation, repair, and hook-up of electrical services on ships
- Familiar with safety procedures pertaining to electrical work
- Knowledge of electrical theory and shipboard electrical systems (600 V and less)
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment
- Ability to implement Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO)
- Completion of basic electrical shipbuilding written test and hands-on electrical hookup
