Job Summary
Install, repair, and hook up shipboard electrical systems and equipment (600 V and less) per specifications and drawings. Duties include running cables, terminations and connector fabrication, cable transit packing, testing circuits for continuity/shorts/grounds, inspecting mechanical and electrical connections, identifying and locating faults in distribution generators and systems, maintaining and repairing related equipment (e.g., telephones and circuits), and installing new power and lighting circuits. Must be familiar with safety procedures and able to implement Lock-out Tag-out as required for shipyard work.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with shipboard electrical systems preferred
- Knowledge of electrical theory and procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment on ships (600 V and less)
- Safety procedures proficiency including Lock-out Tag-out
