Job Summary
Install, repair, and hook-up electrical services on ships at a shipyard. Tasks include running cables, terminations, and harnessing cables aboard vessels; preparing work area, drilling, grinding, and inspecting electrical equipment; testing circuits for continuity and faults; inspecting mechanical and electrical connections; locating grounds and open circuits in distribution systems; maintaining and repairing telephones and related equipment; installing new power and lighting circuits; adhering to safety procedures and implementing Lock-out Tag-out. Fiber optic experience is required. Suitable candidates will have knowledge of electrical theory and shipboard electrical systems (600 V and less) and be able to troubleshoot and repair equipment per specifications and drawings.
