Job Summary
Marine Electrician responsible for installation, repair, and hook-up of electrical services on a ship. Must troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment (600 V and less) using established specifications and drawings. Tasks include running cables, wiring installations, preparing work areas, drilling, inspecting cableways, testing circuits, and ensuring electrical/mechanical components operate properly. Emphasis on safety procedures and Lock-out Tag-out, with knowledge of electrical theory, procedures, and shipyard standards. Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of electrical theory and procedures
- ability to troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment (600 V and less)
- familiar with all safety procedures pertaining to or where to obtain electrical procedures
- Lock-out Tag-out implementation experience
