Job Summary
Marine Electrician III responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems aboard ships; perform on-site field service for system grooming, checkouts, minor repairs and configuration validation; assemble multi-pin connectors and fiber optic connections; read schematics/blueprints; ensure adherence to NAVSEA standards; requires copper connector certification and fiber optic experience; 7+ years shipboard HM&E experience; may require SECRET clearance and travel; location Norfolk, VA; on-site work with potential for viewing engineering data and performing testing and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Must be Copper Connector Certified & possess fiber optic experience
- Technical expertise with power generation and transmission equipment, motorized valve actuators, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics and integrated network system experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years of practical shipboard HM&E systems and equipment
- NAVSEA Cableway and Connectorization Certifications
- High school diploma, GED or industrial school certificate
