Job Summary
Marine Electrician for Continental Tide Defense Systems’ Fleet Services Group - West. Responsibilities include shipboard HM&E system maintenance and repair, troubleshooting shipboard electrical/electronic equipment, interpreting schematics and installation drawings, handling NAVSEA cableways and connectors, and working with power generation, switchboards, and PLCs. Must be able to install, repair, and replace cables and connectors, and perform tasks inside ships, shipyards, and confined spaces; travel may be required; ability to obtain SECRET clearance and access Navy bases; must have basic hand tools; physical requirements include lifting at least 30 lbs and being able to work in extreme conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or industrial school certificate
- Minimum of three (3) years of practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand simple schematics and blueprints
- Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance and be able to access US Navy bases
- Must possess basic hand tools
- Able to work on ships, in shipyards, in confined spaces; capable of lifting 30 lbs or more
- Experience with NAVSEA cableway and connectorization; certification is a plus
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics, and integrated network systems preferred
- Preferred certifications: Multi-pin connectors IAW MIL-STD-20035A; CFOS certifications
- Knowledge of NAVSEA standards and items
- Microsoft Office knowledge is a plus
