Job Summary
Marine Electrician I is responsible for supporting shipboard HM&E electrical/electronic systems: inspecting, repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems and equipment; troubleshooting shipboard electrical systems; interpreting electrical schematics and installation drawings; performing on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts; verifying mechanical alignments; possessing technical expertise with power generation, transmission equipment, and motorized valve actuators; assembling multi-pin connectors and fiber optic connections; and ensuring compliance with NAVSEA standards. Requires high school/trade/ vocational degree and 1-3 years HM&E ship repair experience; travel up to 10%; US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance; occasional travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a high school, trade, or vocational school degree.
- 1-3 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with shipboard electronic and electrical systems and equipment.
- Technical expertise with power generation and transmission equipment, and motorized valve actuators, is essential
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and installation drawings.
- Experience with NAVSEA cableway and connectorization practices.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics, and integrated network systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, Naval installations
