Marine Driver & Yard Associate

Job Summary
Pick up and deliver boats to customers and Hamlin's locations, and assist with the safe and efficient moving of trailers and boats in and out of the yard, storage buildings, service bays, and customer launches. Check in new boats, motors, and trailers by completing forms detailing their status and condition, then prep trailers for sale. Operate a snowplow to keep the yard safe and accessible in winter, and help with yard and machinery maintenance and organization. This full-time role requires 40-55 hours, M-F 7:30 am-4-5 pm, and Saturdays 8-12 during boating season. Hamlin's Marine is Central Maine's premier Boat Dealership with locations on the Penobscot River.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Authorized to work in the US
- Forklift, tractor and trailer driving experience
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and check-in/check-out sheets
- Must have legible handwriting
- Ability to speak effectively and use walkie in a manner that displays professionalism with customers
- Ability to work independently & with a team
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to handle a fast pace and quickly transition between job duties
- Position may be required to work across a wide variety of Maine weather conditions
- This is a full-time position requiring 40-55 hours, M-F 7:30 am-4-5 pm, and Saturdays from 8-12 during boating season
- Position requires constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping
- Position requires occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a marine environment with vessel movement
- Tractor and yard equipment experience
- Hydraulic trailer operating experience
- Forklift training
- Basic mechanical hand tools & preventive maintenance
