Marine Drafter/Engineering Support Technician

Job Summary
Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Rhino and AutoCAD to support marine production projects and create visuals, layouts, and dimensioned drawings for complex assemblies. Collaborate with engineers, naval architects, and production leads to translate design concepts into accurate shop-ready documentation while supporting 3D tooling and fixture development on flat tables. Ensure all drawings meet company and industry quality, safety, and accuracy standards, configure files for bills of materials, and assist with process documentation and standardization. Spend approximately three months on the production floor learning company processes before transitioning fully into the drafting role.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field
- Proven proficiency in Rhino
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other 3D CAD tools
- Understanding of drafting techniques, manufacturing methods, and marine construction practices
- Strong visual communication and spatial reasoning skills
- Ability to interpret and create accurate technical drawings and documentation
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills to interface with engineering, production, and quality teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the marine and composite boat building/manufacturing industry
- Exposure to QMS systems and process documentation
- Familiarity with 3D modeling, tooling, and fixture design
