Marine Claims Team Leader

Job Summary
Lead a team of Marine Claims Consultants investigating cargo, stock throughput, hull, and liability claims by assigning workflows based on client relationships and skillsets. Proactively monitor performance through reviews and audits against standardized metrics while maintaining a partial caseload of claim files. Mentor direct reports to resolve issues and guide personal development, ensuring quality control via file audits and individual reviews. Contribute to refining processes, procedures, reporting, and workflow automation to meet established production goals. Maintain client relationships and attend local trade events, adhering to state insurance regulations and company policies. Travel as needed for employee engagement, onboarding, client visits, and leadership meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least five years of experience in a marine claims management or property claims management role
- Prior logistics/international trade experience
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills
- Ability to remotely manager a team of direct reports
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competency working with Microsoft office suite
- Knowledge and prior experience working in Oracle Netsuite, or another enterprise software platform
