Job Summary
Coordinate dockhands and helpers to deliver smooth wet-slip docking, fueling, maintenance, and housekeeping while maintaining highest safety and service standards. Set daily assignments and schedules, ensure grounds and equipment are operationally excellent and compliant with legal requirements, and train the marina team. Identify maintenance needs, maintain accurate checklists for fueling equipment and emergency gear, operate within expense budgets, and manage retail and supply inventories for fuel, bait, and tools. Operate the VHF base radio proficiently, enforce hurricane and oil-spill procedures, and support special marina functions. Perform marina store duties including opening/closing and writing sales tickets. Know all harbor regulations and maintain relationships with the Coast Guard. Assume additional responsibilities in the absence of the Marina Director.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to swim
- knowledge of man-overboard procedures
- CPR and basic first-aid trained (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Pleasant, professional personality with the ability to work effectively with guests, co-workers, and local law-enforcement agencies
- Minimum one year of experience working at a large-scale luxury marina
- Strong experience handling boats of various sizes
- Reliable cell phone for emergency contact
- Ability to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
- Flexible schedule: typically 40–50 hours per week depending on season; regular weekends and holidays required; on-call for emergencies and storms
