Job Summary
Respond to urgent calls and coordinate support for patients and families living with terminal illness across the Lothians. Travel with Registered Nurses to provide hands-on care and reassurance in the comfort of their own homes, working closely with NHS colleagues and the wider Hospice Care at Home service. No two shifts are the same, requiring the ability to work independently while remaining an integral part of a multidisciplinary team. This permanent part-time role involves approximately 20 hours per week based at the Edinburgh Hospice, offering a competitive salary with night shift enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months' experience delivering care in a health or social care setting
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care
- A nurturing and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently
- The ability to be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team
Desired Qualifications
- Willingness to work towards the NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care
