Job Summary
Maintain ownership of test activities in production, ensuring production test flow and resolving complex electrical issues through hands-on troubleshooting. Manage test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts to component-level validation, while improving automation and total cycle time. Generate test work instructions for the technician team in MES, train staff on equipment use, and develop failure mode libraries with troubleshooting guides. Determine root causes of product failures, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to support returns and failure analysis. Optimize test strategies for efficiency, analyze data to identify defects, and contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment
- Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS
- Experience with contract manufacturers in the testing of PCBA/electronic assemblies
- Thorough knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods
- Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscope, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition and measurement sensors
- Strong root cause analysis skills of non-conforming hardware
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiar with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES)
- Experience working on projects that involve the integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD clearance
Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience
- Pursuing a Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW and/or MATLAB for data parsing and data visualization
- Experience with test automation, PCBA design, and mechanical design
- Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc
- Experience with ESS-related testing (Thermal, Vibration, etc)
- Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain one
