Manufacturing Technology Manager

Job Summary
Lead the Manufacturing Technology function at a large-scale industrial biotechnology site, overseeing project portfolios and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Translate Health and Biosciences Manufacturing Technology and Operations goals into actionable departmental initiatives, prioritize and manage multiple projects, and ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders and senior leaders. Provide robust process, equipment, and automation design solutions, drive continuous improvement to increase capacity, improve product quality, enhance safety, and reduce costs. Collaborate with site capital and automation teams to align resources and develop the site’s long-term master plan, and partner with Process R&D to implement new products and process changes. Train personnel, participate in task forces to improve procedures, and re-qualify on all job-related certifications as required for a cGMP/quality environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of eight years of engineering experience
- Proven experience in team leadership or project management
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial biotechnology processes, including fermentation, downstream processing, and both liquid and solid formulation
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple locations, functions, and business divisions
- Strong decision-making, prioritization, and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Solid financial and business acumen, including experience in project justification and budgeting
- Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals
- Legal right to work in the United States
- Must pass a drug screen and a background check
