Job Summary
Design and validate tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to ensure repeatable production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and lead root cause analysis for process capability studies. Maintain process documentation including work instructions, SOPs, and control plans while monitoring metrics to reduce cycle time and scrap. Analyze customer drawings and CAD models to determine feasibility and develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and tooling for RFQs. Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS to perform First Article Inspections, apply GD&T principles, and generate detailed inspection reports. Track quote performance, coordinate with procurement for pricing, and assist in audits to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 5 years of directly related manufacturing engineering experience
- related technical discipline
- Strong understanding of manufacturing methods
- Strong understanding of materials
- Strong understanding of equipment
- Strong understanding of quality systems
- knowledge of design techniques
- knowledge of tools
- knowledge of principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of Lean
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools
- 5 years of CMM programming experience
- Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English
- Ability to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment
- US Person status (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
