Manufacturing Technician

Job Summary
Complete mechanical and dimensional testing of metal samples following work instructions and ASTM specifications. Utilize router, shear, and other small power tools to shape samples to required dimensions. Prepare and analyze solid metal samples for chemical composition, entering data accurately to record results and maintain databases. Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on test equipment while managing retention sample inventory. Support Quality and R&D departments with special testing protocols. Work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule of three days one week and four days the next, with every other weekend off.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Science-related field
- 3 years of laboratory experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- General understanding of PCs and related software
- Sound communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Analytical skills
- ability to plan work
- Proper use of testing equipment
- Familiarity with ASTM methods
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screening
