Job Summary
Senior-level Grinding Machinist responsible for independently setting up, loading and verifying CNC programs, and operating CNC OD/ID grinders (Studer, Danobat, Campbell) as well as manual grinders to produce high-precision components. Lead or mentor other operators, apply lean manufacturing principles, interpret complex blueprints and GD&T, optimize grinding parameters for surface finish and cycle time, and drive process improvements to reduce setup time, cycle time, and scrap. Role requires strong technical judgment, problem-solving ability, and the capability to contribute to manufacturing excellence and future leadership opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical School preferred)
- 5+ years with advanced CNC and precision grinding experience
- Proven ability to hold tolerances of ±0.0001”
- Experience achieving high-polish surface finishes down to 8 Ra or better
- Strong understanding of grinding parameters for hardened tool steels, carbide, stainless steel, and specialty alloys
