Manufacturing Technician

Job Summary

Conduct batch processing and liquid production of solvents, including loading and offloading bulk chemical solvents into tanker trucks, holding vessels, rail cars, and drums. Monitor tank truck and rail car loading and unloading while handling maintenance of pneumatic sanitary pumps, hoses, and filter housings. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials. Prepare production processes by studying work orders, initiating raw material processing, and maintaining quality standards through sampling and testing. Investigate equipment warnings, perform required maintenance, and clean up after processing. Improve systems by identifying problems and recommend new techniques while adhering to safety, health, and environmental standards. Make decisions to ensure production targets are met and follow all work instructions and batch analysis sheets. Work varied shifts including weekends and overtime in a fast-paced team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED
  • 0-3 yrs Manufacturing experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
  • Must have a valid Texas drivers' license and clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work with other people in a fast paced team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to be fitted for and wear a respirator, if needed
  • Ability to work varied shifts to include 1st and 2nd shift, including weekends
  • Excellent safety, work performance and attendance records

  • Communication - Capacity to clearly and professionally exchange ideas, interact respectfully with colleagues and customers, and foster positive workplace relationships

Desired Qualifications

  • Mechanical background/aptitude
  • Good computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products
  • Analytical sampling experience
  • Experience operating a forklift and other manufacturing tools
