Manufacturing Technician-Final Assembly

Job Summary
Conduct mechanical assembly, disassembly, and installation tasks for power transformers, including loading/unloading machinery, operating non-CNC equipment, and performing gluing, clamping, painting, and oil filling operations. Assemble or disassemble parts using hand and power tools, measure components with calipers and micrometers, and inspect quality criteria to ensure units meet specifications. Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads, wrap wires, and perform electrical tests to verify wiring and insulation. Read prints, Bill of Materials, and work instructions to determine components, fabricate wooden parts and fixtures, and safely operate material handling equipment like overhead cranes and forklifts. Clean, lubricate, and maintain parts while adhering to safety rules, 6S practices, and TPM tasks. Assist in troubleshooting, training new employees, and supporting the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Two years' experience, or equivalent education, training and experience
- Developed mechanical or technical skills
- Experience using various hand and power tools
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings/specifications, prints or work instructions
- Developed math and practical geometry skills
- Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications
- Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools
- Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices
- Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs
- Ability to inspect work
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
- Ability to judge the quality of work produced compared to established standards, drawings, and instructions
- Ability to operate powered equipment, such as fork truck and overhead crane
- Ability to work in outdoor climate and normal indoor temperatures
- Ability to stand and walk minimum 6-8 hours per day
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders as required to perform essential job functions
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to climb and work up to 20 feet off the ground for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to perform repetitive movement
- Ability to use all applicable PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves
