Job Summary
Manufacturing Technician to join EnerSys’s aerospace battery production for space missions. Responsibilities include setting up and using manufacturing equipment, performing mechanical tasks (spot welding, pull testing, mechanical assembly), applying Kapton tape and other materials, reading build documentation and technical drawings, conducting limited battery testing after training, maintaining cleanroom conditions, and participating in training and competency development. The role emphasizes adherence to safety protocols, quality management (QMS) processes, documentation, and cross-training across departments. The candidate should have strong attention to detail, read technical drawings, and be capable of working in a multi-discipline, multi-project environment. Experience and qualifications in ECSS standards for soldering and crimping of high-reliability electrical connections, plus ESA-related experience, are required.
Required Qualifications
- ECSS-Q-ST-70-61 Manual soldering of high reliability electrical connections and inspection
- ECSS-Q-ST-70-26 Crimping of high-reliability electrical connections
- hands-on engineering and mechanical assembly experience
- two to five years of relevant assembly experience
- ESA standard qualification and work experience in soldering and crimping of high-reliability electrical connections
