Job Summary
Manufacturing Support Engineer to assist multiple production lines in Teledyne FLIR cooler products. Responsibilities include processing returned hardware for complaint evaluation and failure analysis, supporting process improvements and new-product introductions, developing and executing experiments, assisting with training, updating assembly instructions and travelers to meet regulatory standards, and contributing to Lean/Six Sigma/5S initiatives. Requires hands-on hardware processing, equipment validation, interpretation of manufacturing data, and collaboration with suppliers, engineering, and production teams. Must be able to perform daily production tasks, documentation, and provide effective communication; capable of lifting up to 25 lbs (occasional 50 lbs) and operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 1-3 years manufacturing experience; English literacy; experience with ESD hardware; basic metrology tools; knowledge of assembly and processing for cryocoolers and infrared vision systems.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years manufacturing experience
- Understanding of manufacturing and processing operations
- Electromechanical hardware assembly
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Able to read and work with manufacturing documentation
- Able to read, write and converse in English
- Experience with handling ESD hardware
- Basic use of metrology equipment (calipers, rulers, micrometers, microscopes, multimeters)
- Knowledge of physics involved in device operation for Failure Analysis and Root Cause Investigation
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs
- Familiarity with documentation/work instructions
- Experience with data-oriented production metrics
