Job Summary
Lead, manage, and supervise a team of production workers from leads to general labor by assigning tasks, monitoring daily activities, and providing coaching. Ensure sub-department production schedules and targets are met while implementing quality control standards, inspecting products, and resolving production issues within the job schedule timeframe. Enforce safety policies, conduct regular inspections, and coordinate training sessions. Identify areas for improvement, execute lean manufacturing principles, and implement cost reduction projects. Maintain accurate records of production activities, prepare operations reports, and document incidents. Manage allocation of materials, machinery, and workforce to optimize efficiency, oversee routine equipment maintenance, and track key performance indicators. Inform the direct manager of planned or unplanned leave and maintain open communication regarding sub-department matters.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Related Field
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Related Field
- Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Lean Manufacturing Certification
- Six Sigma Certification
- Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
- Minimum 3-5 Years in Manufacturing or Production Environment
- Previous Supervisory or Leadership Experience
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Understanding of Quality Control Procedures
- Familiarity with Safety Standards and Regulations
- Project Management Experience
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Experience with Performance Metrics and Reporting

- Team Building and Training Experience
- Ability to distinguish between colors
- Visual acuity to read fine print on documents and screens
- Depth perception to operate machinery safely
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel
- Ability to reach overhead and below shoulder level
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools accurately
- Ability to push and pull carts, equipment, and materials
- Regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Compliance with all safety protocols and regulations regarding PPE usage
- Endurance to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts and high-pressure situations
