Manufacturing Supervisor – Downstream Bioprocessing (Night Shift)

Job Summary
Lead downstream bioprocessing operations at Elanco's Elwood, Kansas site, overseeing buffer formulation, cell clarification, protein A chromatography, and Tangential Flow Filtration while partnering with upstream and fill/finish teams. Supervise and develop manufacturing personnel through performance management and training to ensure adherence to USDA, EMA, and cGMP requirements. Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to promote safe work practices, coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain for compliant batch execution, and lead root cause analyses for operational deviations. Monitor equipment readiness, schedule adherence, and documentation completion while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This night shift role involves a 12-hour rotation (5p-5a) with premium pay for weekend work.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in a regulated, commercial manufacturing environment
- Must be able to wear appropriate gowning and personal protective equipment in manufacturing and support areas

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biomanufacturing related field
- Biomanufacturing experience
- Monoclonal antibody manufacturing
- Understanding of USDA, FDA, EU GMP, cGMP regulatory standards
- Operational excellence, lean manufacturing, six sigma, TPS experience
- Demonstrated success in leadership
- Experience with SAP, OSI PI, VEEVA
