Job Summary
The Manufacturing Summer Student will join the Shipping & Receiving team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to pick customer orders, assist with packing, review inventory, and stock items in designated locations. You’ll work on the manufacturing floor, collaborate with shop-floor staff and Customer Service Representatives to ensure orders are accurate and on time, and participate in a 10–12 week immersive internship program that includes weekly cross-department meetings, bi-weekly leadership chats, and monthly career workshops. Key duties include picking and preparing products to fulfill orders, conducting routine inventory reviews and cycle counts, stocking incoming inventory, maintaining a safe and organized work area in compliance with OSHA policies, and contributing to cross-functional problem-solving. The program offers paid internship experience with a starting pay of $19 per hour, on-site work in Downers Grove, IL, and exposure to multiple facets of Flexco’s operations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment (forklift, shipping, cycle counting, inventory, RF Scanner)
- Experience with picking and/or packing is a plus
- Capable of following safety guidelines and regulations
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependability and follow-through on completion of tasks
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
