Job Summary
Sourcing Engineer role focused on hands-on, engineering-based sourcing within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, coordinating with quality control to ensure material standards, tracking market trends and pricing, building supplier relationships, aligning procurement with engineering, production, and finance goals, implementing sustainable procurement practices, improving procurement processes, data entry and file maintenance, generating procurement reports, and supporting cost-effective purchasing strategies across the supply chain. The position requires technical/mechanical proficiency, experience with supplier networks, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize sourcing and inventory management. Familiarity with systems like IFS or SAP, CAD tools, and strong negotiation and organizational skills are preferred.
