Job Summary
Lead a team of Quality Supervisors to maintain ISO 9001 accreditation and enforce consistent standards across all fabrication areas. Own the quality management system end-to-end, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans, while running the internal audit programme to drive corrective actions to verified close-out. Directly manage supplier and subcontractor quality, including incoming inspection requirements, and act as the escalation point for quality disputes between production, project delivery, supply chain, and clients. Hold delegated authority to place work on hold, reject product, and stop release where quality requirements aren't met. Define, measure, and report on quality performance metrics such as first pass yield and non-conformance. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, third-party inspectors, and certification bodies. Permanent working rights in Australia required; no sponsorship offered.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading a team, including direct management of personnel
- Deep working knowledge of ISO 9001, with genuine experience owning a certified quality management system
- Ability to set and enforce consistent quality standards across multiple production areas and product types
- Sound ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, welding procedures, and inspection and test plans
- Internal Auditor certification in ISO 9001
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and holding a firm quality position under schedule and commercial pressure

Desired Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Quality, Engineering or a related discipline
- Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001
- Trade or technical background in fabrication, welding or mechanical assembly
- Welding inspection qualification, for example AS 2214, CSWIP or AWS CWI
- White Card, Silica Awareness and Asbestos Awareness
