Job Summary
Manufacturing Project Engineer coordinates capital and process engineering projects to enable pilot-to-commercial scale-up of a rare earth magnet production facility. Responsibilities include planning and executing manufacturing and capital projects across pilot, scale-up, and early production stages; developing and managing project scope, schedules, and budgets; supporting equipment installation, commissioning, and startup; conducting engineering reviews to support process improvements and facility expansion; tracking project performance and identifying risks, delays, and corrective actions; analyzing production and equipment data for troubleshooting and continuous improvement; preparing technical documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, work instructions, project reports); coordinating internal teams and external contractors/vendors to ensure project execution; supporting equipment selection, specification, and procurement; ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in a public-company environment; requires strong manufacturing engineering knowledge, familiarity with scale-up/pilot plants or capital projects, and proficiency with project-tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel). Minimum of a Bachelor's in Engineering and 2–4 years of relevant experience; exposure to metals, chemicals, or advanced materials processing is preferred. The role is based in Stillwater, OK within a fast-paced, high-growth environment with cross-functional interaction and increasing ownership as the engineering organization scales. The work environment includes office, manufacturing floor, and active construction site; requires the ability to meet physical demands and extended hours as needed. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, or related field)
- 2–4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing or capital project environments
- Experience in pilot-scale, commissioning, or scale-up environments preferred
