Manufacturing Production Technician

Job Summary
Conduct forming, finishing, and packaging of refractory products while operating presses, setters, pickers, scales, and bearing equipment. Manage transport machinery including tram cabs, high lift trucks, and lift trucks to deliver materials to presses and move kiln cars, racks, and pallets throughout the plant. Maintain quality by auditing manufacturing processes, ensuring products meet standards, and keeping appropriate logs. Uphold safety protocols and a best-in-industry safety culture by promoting a clean, safe work environment and resolving equipment issues promptly. Requires high school diploma, two to four years of machine operating experience, and forklift proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of basic safety/OSHA standards
- Mechanical aptitude
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Requires more than 2/3 of time standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Requires less than 1/3 of time sitting
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Lifting to 100 pounds less than 1/3 of time
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Vision: Requires accurate close, distance color and peripheral vision, including the ability to adjust focus and use peripheral vision
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Environment: Requires more than 2/3 of time working near moving mechanical parts and being exposed to fumes, airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Environment: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time in wet or humid conditions, in extreme heat or cold, and exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Environment: Less than 1/3 of the time in an office setting, in high places, at risk of electrical shock and near vibration
- Physical and Environmental Requirements: Noise: Requires exposure to very loud noise
Desired Qualifications
- Some manufacturing experience helpful
- Previous forklift experience preferred
- Two (2) – four (4) years of previous machine operating or production related experience preferred
