Job Summary
Execute the schedule and cost plans for a manufacturing operations cell in the Precision Metal Fabrication value stream, leading a team of 15-20 employees to meet contractual quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Manage workforce planning, resource deployment, and hiring while tracking time and attendance. Enforce company policies, ensure a safe work environment, and lead safety improvement projects through daily interaction with engineering, maintenance, and program management. Implement continuous improvement initiatives using six sigma and lean methodologies to achieve performance goals. Requires active DoD Confidential security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance
- University Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience
- Specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices
- Experience working in and/or leading a Machine Shop, Final Assembly, and/or Component Manufacturing environment
- Experience assigning, managing, and measuring work assignments to completion
- Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean / six sigma implementation projects
- Basic knowledge of theory of constraints
- Experience supervising bargaining unit employees
- Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience in the aerospace/defense industry
- Experience leading in a team-based manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access) and/or SAP
