Job Summary
Operate a variety of machines to produce labels and flexible packaging, monitor print and seam quality, remove defective material and splice rolls per specification, and palletize loads. Use tools such as a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing; assist with changeover and external make-ready activities; perform external cleanup after changeover; clean ink pans and related equipment; locate dies to and from presses; may collaborate with a press operator to inspect labels under a strobe light. Ensure adherence to customer QA specifications and complete related documentation; participate in special projects; comply with overtime as needed. Strong attention to detail, basic math and measurement skills, good communication, and teamwork are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to add/subtract/multiply/divide using money units and measurements
- Ability to use simple Windows-based applications
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read and understand a job ticket
- Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements
- Ability to differentiate colors and pass color vision test
- Vision requirements (close/distance/color) with correction to 20/20
- Ability to input data in computer systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Experience in print shop or labeling environment helpful but not required
- Ability to perform basic quality assurance checks and document results
