Job Summary
Join Dixon Ticonderoga Company's manufacturing team as a Machine Operator, Trimmer Operator, or Sheeter Operator. Duties include operating machinery to meet production goals, performing machine set-ups, troubleshooting issues, and participating in team training. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, prior machine operating or trimming experience, and the ability to work up to 12-hour shifts. Strong safety and quality standards, attention to detail, and the capacity to communicate effectively in a diverse environment are essential. Competitive hourly pay ranging from $20-25 with potential increases and comprehensive benefits following a probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Can work up to 12-hour shifts, including some Saturdays.
- Have prior machine operating or trimming experience.
- Be a leader in safety and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and system issues.
- Perform machine set-ups and change-overs to different types of products.
- Process, understand, and plan for orders.
- Participate in training of other team members and improvement of own skillset.
- Take direction from management, supervisors, and operators.
- Complete varied tasks within the plant, including frequently lifting items of up to 50 pounds and infrequently lifting items of up to 75 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and comfortable using computerized equipment.
- Communicate and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
- Operate lift equipment, stand-up or sit-down, at heights of up to 25 feet, as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior machine operator or trimming experience is preferred.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and calculation of averages.
- Ability to read standard and metric rulers.
- Ability to use light tools such as wrenches, channel locks, and screw drivers.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and problem solve in a variety of situations.
- Ability to work individually and in small groups.
- Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office related software.
