Job Summary

Conduct molding, demolding, and cleaning of PVA sponge molds while adhering to strict safety and quality procedures. Operate manufacturing equipment under the guidance of a Lead-Materials Processor to meet daily production goals. Train and oversee less experienced materials processors to ensure team performance. Handle hazardous chemicals and maintain overall personnel safety in a wet environment requiring full PPE. Perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing carts weighing 80–190 pounds. Work Monday through Wednesday alternating weeks from 6pm to 6am.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to follow written instructions
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Average computer skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Proven safety record
  • Tyvek suit
  • Personal Protective Equipment consisting of safety glasses, gloves, face-shield, slip resistant steel or composite toe boots, and a full-face respirator
  • Clean shaven within OSHA regulations when required to wear a respirator
  • Hazardous chemicals handling including skin and respiratory sensitizers, acid, and other chemicals
  • Computer use
  • Various analytical equipment and tools
  • Required to work on feet 10-12 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Loading and unloading molds to and from curing oven: 40 – 50 pounds
  • Manual pushing of wheeled carts loaded with empty and full product molds: 80 – 190 pounds (initial and sustained force for pushing/pulling carts up to 50 pounds)
  • Filling molds and removing cured products from molds consists of ongoing arm and hand movements from shoulder to waist height for durations of up to two-hour periods
  • Mold cleaning and preparation includes constant hand and arm movement at waist height
  • Light lifting: 2 - 5 pounds
  • Processing and neutralization of cast-to-mandrel products consists of constant hand and arm movement between shoulder and waist height for durations of up to two-hour periods
  • Bending at waist and lifting of product storage bins: 15 – 20 pounds
  • Draining of water filled temporary product storage tubs: 40 – 50 pounds
  • Regular attendance
