Job Summary
Mentor and support daily production operations by providing hands-on training, cross-training, and onboarding; uphold safety standards; assist with material handling and machine setup across multiple production areas; operate shop equipment (cranes, forklifts, saws, torches, grinders, plasma cutters, oxy-fuel tools); conduct routine production tasks (inspection, deburring, sorting, labeling, packaging, finishing); manage material transport and ERP transactions for inventory and labor reporting; support inventory accuracy and material staging; foster teamwork and communication; identify and escalate production, equipment, or quality concerns; maintain safe, clean work environment; strive to meet productivity and quality targets; perform additional duties to support plant operations and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Mentor and support new and existing associates through hands-on training, cross-training, and onboarding activities.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and reinforce safety standards.
- Assist production teams with material handling, staging, loading, and unloading of steel and other manufacturing materials.
- Support machine setup and operation across multiple production areas and help associates learn equipment processes and procedures.
- Operate shop equipment safely (cranes, forklifts, saws, torches, grinders, plasma cutters, oxy-fuel tools).
- Perform routine production tasks (inspection, deburring, sorting, labeling, packaging, finishing).
- Maintain efficient workflow by transporting materials, scrap, and consumables.
- Complete ERP transactions for inventory tracking, material usage, labor reporting, and production documentation.
- Assist with inventory accuracy and staging materials to support production flow.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and communication between departments and shifts.
- Identify production, equipment, or quality concerns and communicate issues to leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment per standards.
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality expectations.
- Perform additional duties to support operations and continuous improvement.
